Vacation Notice

Just letting folks know that I'll be leaving for Lily Dale, NY on Friday, June 29th and will not be home until Wednesday night, July 4th. A dear friend, Monica, and I will be spending time together and taking a class with Rev. Janet Nohavec on 'Evidential Mediumship.' Besides just relaxing and enjoying the wonderful Lily Dale vibe, my plans are to give platform readings as a Visiting Medium whilst I'm there.

No readings will be scheduled during the time I'm gone. My Etsy Shop will be on vacation until I return. I'll put out the notice for July's free reading once I arrive home again. Thank you! For those in the U.S., Happy 4th of July!

The Spiritual Spider On Etsy!

I've had this dream of having a business that included...in addition to the Psychic Mediumship and Tarot readings that I already facilitate...making handmade Prayer Beads, 'Good Intention Beads,' Rosaries, Chaplets, and jewelry. Well, a few days ago my business went 'live' on Etsy: The Spiritual Spider On Etsy.

I know I've written about this before on an earlier post, but it must be said that the seeds for this dream go all the way back to when I was in fifth grade and took an after-school workshop on Rosary making for fun. And let's face it, what's not to like about beads, in general?! They're colorful, varied, often blingy, and just plain fun to work with.

I love the growth potential that such an Etsy business involves. As I learn new techniques, new items will be offered. Really, the sky is the limit. I'm not boxed in to any one religious or even spiritual path with regards to the Prayer Beads/Rosaries. It's all good.

To get even a few pieces listed on Etsy took joyful work, that's for sure. There's registering the company with the government. And the taking of a small business course and meeting with a small business consultant. There's the ordering of the materials to make the pieces...not to mention the purchasing of jewelry boxes and organza bags...and the designing of pretty company stickers to go on the boxes. Of course, there's the designing and the making of the pieces after finding a spot in the living room to set up shop. There's the taking of clear, quality pics and all that this entails. And there's figuring out the ins and outs of Etsy itself, as well as the oft-confusing topics of charging sales tax and shipping/handling. Oh, and let's not forget the bookkeeping on my end, of which I had to learn from scratch how to even begin to tackle it! And securing the advice of a real, reliable accountant. Whew! Worth it? Absolutely!

So do, please, visit my shop! Consider visiting often because the inventory will no doubt change and be added to. You can always find the link to my Etsy shop on the right sidebar of this blog. Thank you!

Tackle Your Fears

Susan was my small group mentor for all of the two years that I attended Fellowships Of The Spirit (FOTS). I consider our coming together as a true gift. When I first met her I could tell that we had much in common, and that which we didn't have in common would and did teach me to look at things with an open mind and heart. Hugs, Susan!

On one of the last days of school, Susan could tell that I was fearful and downright upset about a decision I was in the thick of pondering. At break, she asked me to join her so we could have a chat. She began by asking me to consider my responses to the set of questions/suggestions below. I took notes and by doing so, took active participation through the writing down of my answers. I've found out that the Universe pays close attention, particularly to active participation!

1) State your fear. If worried, include what it is that you're worried about.

2) List resolutions that could help to alleviate your fears. Note that there may very well be more than one resolution. You may want to include what it is that you would do and what it is that you would not do.

3) Ask yourself if you believe that these resolutions could relieve you from your fear and worry. When you ask if you believe, decide either yes or no for each resolution listed. State an affirmation(s) that reinforces your positive beliefs, such as: I believe...; or I am convinced that...; or I know...; etc.

4) List, in order of importance, what you actively plan to do to clear the particular fear and worry from your life. Consider beginning with: I WILL... You can even give a timeline and include when it is you will do something.

5) State an affirmation(s) that includes something very positive about yourself; your character; your attributes; etc., and how you are equipped/capable of tackling your fear/worry. Consider writing this affirmation down and posting it somewhere (such as your bathroom mirror or on your refrigerator) so that you can say and reinforce it daily. An example would be: I am confident. I know how to take care of myself. Etc...

I believe that Susan's exercise is powerful! I believe it can help many people to tackle their fears and worries. Thank you, Susan!

FOTS' Ordination/Graduation!!!!

On May 31, 2012 I graduated alongside my beloved fellow classmates from Fellowships Of The Spirit's (FOTS) "School of Spiritual Healing and Prophecy," a 2-year program that ranks as one of my all-time, top, positive, life-changing experiences. What a wonderful journey it has been!! I am now a fully Ordained Minister in the Spiritualist Church AND a Certified Metaphysician. I am so very grateful to have taken part in such an incredible program and wouldn't have wanted to get my foundational training anywhere else in the world. In the above pic, Chris and I are in front of Lily Dale, NY's Spiritual Healing Temple, where the Ordination took place.

Sacred and beautiful described the ceremony. The Temple was filled with friends and family members, all proud of their loved one who had fulfilled the important requirements of the school, ready to lead a life of service in whatever way was for their highest and best good. I shall never forget how proud I felt as I walked with my classmates into the Temple, singing "Home Again." The only thing I worried about was that I'd begin crying with the emotion of it all! Well, I also prayed I wouldn't trip! As we knelt at the front of the Temple for Ordination, mentors and fellow classmates laid their hands on our heads and shoulders to demonstrate their support and care. LOVE enveloped us all.

Pictured above is Reverend Elaine Thomas, Co-Founder and Director of Fellowships of the Spirit. Words alone cannot adequately describe the love I feel for this woman. There were many FABULOUS instructors during our two years of classes, but for me personally, Rev. Elaine's mediumship instruction topped the list. Such a bounty of helpful information was taught! What I inhaled deeply at the school has more than prepared me to be a compassionate, ethical, and loving Minister, capable of facilitating readings that are clear and accurate, and for the highest and best good of any client.

When you call or visit the FOTS' office in Lily Dale, NY, you'll more than likely be greeted by one or both of these two lovely sisters, Della and DeDe. My visits to FOTS were never complete unless I went to the office for hugs! They are the 'salt of the earth' and so beautiful in all ways. Chris and I enjoyed spending the graduation afterglow party with them.

Roberta and I! We were roomies at Cindie's and Don's "Sunset View Guest Home," in Lily Dale for 2 years. Roberta is dear to me and oh-so-treasured. I am very grateful she is my friend. We sure did have a lot of fun after class!! I'll never forget our 'light shows.'  And I'll always fondly remember Monica and Jeff visiting with us regularly, not to mention other classmates who occasionally stopped by our 'end' room.

I highly recommend Sunset View if you're needing a place to stay in Lily Dale. Here's the pertinent info: Sunset View Guest Home, 11 Cleveland Avenue, (716) 384-4035.

Thank you to ALL who helped make it possible for me to attend and graduate from FOTS...Chris being thanked first and foremost, because without his love and support it would have been much more difficult to manifest my dreams. Many thanks, as well, to Marie for driving me to and from school. And to Susan for being the best small-group mentor one could ever ask for! And to Angie for picking me up and taking me back to the airport during one session. And to Carrie for picking me up from the airport on graduation week. And Janice, oh mentor and friend, I am and shall always be grateful for your guidance and friendship. And Monica, who through her herbal tinctures helped me to become healthy after the pneumonia and subsequent infections. And I can't forget Lee, who told me about FOTS in the first place, and graduated in the class before me. And to all the friends, family, and even folks I didn't know who allowed me to facilitate readings and healings for them. I thank all those who gave love and encouragement all along the road leading towards Ordination. I am so very grateful.

June's Free Reading

Calling all those who want to be in June's drawing for one free reading. The winner can choose between one 30-minute Tarot reading OR a 30-minute Psychic Mediumship reading. The reading will be via Skype or phone. An MP3 recording of the reading will be included as my gift to you, if one desires it.

How can you win this reading? Wait for my post each month, which will generally be on the first of the month. Either send me an e-mail (spinningjenny57@hotmail.com) OR comment on the blog post that has the free offer (include your e-mail address so I can contact you if you win). After a few days of having the free-offer-post up I'll put all names in a hat and pull the winner (my random decision on when this will happen). The winner will be on the post that the offer was on, using their first name only (along with last name initials, if needed to distinguish them from others with the same first name). I'll contact that person via e-mail to let them know that they have won. We'll schedule a reading for a day/time that's good for both of us. If you win, please do not enter the contest again for one year. Thank you!

If you do not win this month, your name will automatically go into the drawing for the following months, so no need to e-mail me each month to be included. If, for whatever reason, you don't want to be in future drawings, do let me know, please.

The winner for June's free reading is: Michele Q-R!
